Use SurgePix Skills

Once SurgePix Skills are installed, you don't type commands—you just describe what you want in plain language. Your agent picks the right skill, runs it, and returns a download URL.

If you haven't installed yet, start with Install SurgePix Skills.

Before you start

• SurgePix Skills installed and your API key configured.
• Your agent restarted after installation, so it picks up the new skills.
• Network access to api.surgepix.ai (enable a proxy first if your region needs one).

To confirm the skills are loaded, ask your agent: "What skills do you have?" You should see the surgepix-* skills listed.

How to call a skill

Just say what you want. The agent matches your intent to a skill—no command syntax to memorize.

Generate a presentation

Generate a 10-slide PPT reviewing Q3 marketing results, corporate style, in Chinese.

Working from an outline? Point at the file—your agent reads it:

Tip: On Windows, Shift + right-click a file → Copy as path to get an exact path.

Generate a poster

Vertical or horizontal? Say which

Two skills generate image sets, and they're not interchangeable:

If you only say "make me some images," the agent will ask which one you want. Save a round trip by naming the platform or the aspect ratio up front.

Understanding the output

Every generation returns exactly one download URL:

• One image → a direct image URL.
• Multiple images → a single ZIP URL containing the whole set.

There are no per-image links inside a set. If an agent ever offers you separate URLs for "cover," "page 2," and so on, those are fabricated—use the ZIP.

Long-running jobs

Generation runs asynchronously, but by default the skill waits and hands you the finished URL in one go. You don't have to manage anything.

For a long job you'd rather not block on, ask the agent to return immediately—you'll get a taskId instead. Check on it later:

Check the status of task task_abc123

That calls surgepix-query-task and reports the current status, plus the download URL once it's ready.

Iterating on a result

Presentation generation returns a sessionId alongside the download URL. Feed it back in to refine the same deck rather than starting over:

Same deck, but switch to a light minimal style with a blue and white palette — session ID 123.

Both versions land in the same session on the SurgePix web app.

Using local files

Most skills accept a local file path directly—your agent reads it and uploads it as needed. Two things help:

• Launch your agent in the folder that holds your files. Then you can reference ./outline.docx instead of a full path.
• Need a public link for a local file? Ask for an upload: "Upload ./logo.png and give me the URL." That runs surgepix-upload.

Troubleshooting

Keep your API key private

Your API key works like a password. Never share it or let it appear in screenshots, recordings, or public repositories. If a key is ever exposed, revoke and reset it immediately at surgepix.ai.
